In October 2023, Eto’o won a legal battle against Geremi, president of the National Syndicate of Cameroonian Footballers (Synafoc), as confirmed by Afrik-Foot. On August 18, 2024, Eto’o lifted the Lionesses trophy at the new Fecafoot headquarters alongside players and technical staff. Under Eto’o's leadership, Fecafoot seeks to engage youth in football through partnerships like the one with 1XBet, according to Steven Nbienou, the platform's Africa Director.
Eto’o’s August 2024 statement aligns with a broader strategy to reposition Cameroonian football. By leveraging international partnerships and modernizing infrastructure, Fecafoot is seeking to break away from the cycles of underperformance that have plagued recent decades.
