In the closing days of the summer transfer window, Aaron Bibout's name has been circulating both in the Loire region and in Brittany. According to information from the media outlet Sport, relayed by several specialist French football outlets, AS Saint-Étienne and Stade Rennais have made the Cameroonian forward one of their offensive priorities to complete their squad.

Aged 21, Bibout has played for KRC Genk for several seasons and remains under contract until June 2029. His playing time has stayed limited this season, but his output stands out: two goals scored in just four appearances for the Belgian club.

The competition is not limited to the Saint-Étienne–Rennes duel. LOSC Lille and RC Strasbourg Alsace have also made inquiries about the Cameroonian international, according to consistent transfer-market sources. His market value is estimated at around two million euros by transfer observers.

Neither Genk nor the French clubs have confirmed any agreement at this stage. The Belgian club, known for reselling its young talents at a profit, has given no public indication of openness to a departure before the window closes.

The outcome of the deal was set to play out in the closing hours of the summer window, with none of the three competing clubs having yet secured a firm answer from the Belgian side.
