On July 8, the board of directors of Cameroon Airports Company and the entity’s partners visited the construction site to assess progress.

The status of the first lot of the passenger terminal renovation project was presented to Fritz Ntone Ntone, chairman of the board of Cameroon Airports Company.

This initial phase of Douala Airport’s modernisation is an ambitious programme aimed at upgrading airport infrastructure and enhancing passenger safety.

The project’s cost is estimated at 10.45 billion CFA francs, all taxes included, underscoring the importance the Cameroonian government places on the initiative.

Modernising Douala Airport is a key priority for Cameroon’s economy, as it will increase passenger handling capacity and boost the country’s competitiveness in the aviation sector.

Cameroonian authorities hope the project will attract more foreign investment and spur economic development.

The site visit by the board and its partners signals the authorities’ commitment to closely monitor progress and ensure the project is delivered on schedule and within budget.

Further developments are awaited to outline the next steps of the programme and its impact on Cameroon’s economy and society.
