Dora Eboa, born Temou Eboa Dorothée Aurélie, a former figure of Cameroonian television at STV, died on August 31, 2026 in Dakar, Senegal. Her body was found at her home, according to family sources.

Her story had made headlines in Cameroon long before her death. For nearly a decade, the journalist had vanished without a trace, with no contact established with her relatives — an absence that fueled rumors and concern in the Cameroonian media landscape.

In March 2025, news of her survival came as a surprise: Dora Eboa was found safe and sound in Senegal, where she had settled. According to relatives, her distance from family throughout those years was a personal choice rather than a forced disappearance.

Her reappearance thus preceded her death by only eighteen months, closing a chapter that remained largely unexplained as to the exact reasons for her prolonged absence.

The precise circumstances of her death have not been made public at this stage. Her burial is planned in Dakar, where she had chosen to rebuild her life away from Cameroon.

For Cameroon's journalism community, Dora Eboa's death closes a story that remained partly a mystery — that of a well-known television figure who chose, for reasons of her own, to disappear before resurfacing, then passing away far from her home country.
