Now in its sixteenth edition, FIFDA — the African Diaspora International Film Festival — takes over the CGR Paris Lilas and Saint-André-des-Arts cinemas, in the 6th arrondissement, from 4 to 6 September 2026. The festival is organised with the Observatory of Cultural Diversity.
This edition is built around a single thread, "Memories in Struggle": spiritual, political, social, colonial, intimate and musical memory all run through the selection.
Thirteen countries and territories are represented across fifteen films — France, DR Congo, Morocco, Nigeria, Canada, the United States, Curaçao, Jamaica, the United Kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago, Belgium, Kenya, Senegal — spanning shorts, fiction, features and documentaries. Three Paris premieres, four European premieres and six French premieres punctuate the programme.
The festival opens with "The Foolishness of God: A Forgiveness Journey with Desmond Tutu," a documentary by American director Karen Hayes, shown as a European premiere.
Every screening is followed by a discussion with the filmmakers, and industry meetings round out the three-day programme.
For African and diaspora creators, this Paris showcase remains one of the few reliable gateways to distribution networks and Africa-Europe co-productions.
