With less than a month to go before the National Finals of the University Games (FINAJU) 2026, the city of Ebolowa says it is ready to host more than 200 athletes and artists from Cameroon’s public and private universities.

Sports facilities, accommodation sites and the organisational framework are in place to ensure the success of this inaugural edition being held in the South region.

University of Ebolowa’s rector, Prof. Jean Bosco Etoa Etoa, and FENASU president, Prof. Roger Tsafack Nanfoso, reaffirmed this readiness on Tuesday.

Beyond the competition, they highlight the expected economic benefits and call on the South’s elites and populations to rally together to make the games a nationally and internationally significant sporting event.

FINAJU 2026 offers the city of Ebolowa an opportunity to showcase itself and promote university sport in Cameroon.

The success of the event will depend on the mobilisation of all stakeholders, notably local authorities, universities and the athletes themselves.

Cameroonians are eagerly awaiting the competition, which promises to be exciting and to spotlight the country’s young athletic talent.

Further developments are awaited to reveal competition details and the results of the various events.
