On June 17, 2026, the National Agency for Information and Communication Technologies (ANTIC) launched a three‑day forum in Yaoundé aimed at bolstering the security and stability of Cameroon’s domain name system (DNS).

The sixth edition of the National DNS Forum brings together stakeholders from various ministries and organisations involved in managing and using the country’s internet ecosystem.

The forum’s primary goal is to improve DNS security and stability, which are essential for data protection and the prevention of cyber‑attacks.

Cameroon seeks to reinforce its standing in Africa’s digital landscape and provide its citizens with a secure, reliable internet experience.

Discussions will focus on the challenges and opportunities associated with DNS management, as well as strategies to enhance the system’s security and resilience.

Participants will also exchange best practices and the latest technologies for safeguarding data and thwarting cyber threats.

The forum forms part of the Cameroonian government’s broader effort to develop the digital economy and improve national connectivity.

DNS security is a critical issue for the digital economy because it protects sensitive data and helps prevent the financial losses that result from cyber‑attacks.

Cameroon is counting on the forum to strengthen its capacity to combat cyber threats and to offer its citizens a secure digital environment.
