At EA Guingamp, Wilitty Younoussa single-handedly wiped out a two-goal deficit before Nantes snatched a 3-3 draw in the final minute. A few hundred kilometres away, in Boulogne, Blondy Noukeu was piling up saves against Montpellier. Both Cameroonians now feature in Ligue 2's team of the week for matchday 4.
Signed by FC Nantes in June 2026 after a standout season at Rodez, Younoussa scored a striking brace: 2-0 down after a quarter of an hour in coach Grégory Poirier's first match in charge, Nantes clawed their way back thanks to the Cameroonian midfielder's goals, before a late penalty sealed the final 3-3 scoreline.
Blondy Noukeu, for his part, confirmed his current form in a duel of Cameroonian goalkeepers against Montpellier's Simon Ngapandouetnbu. Since joining US Boulogne in early 2026, he has posted one of the league's best clean-sheet percentages.
Born on 9 September 2001 in Tcholliré, Younoussa had already caught Nantes scouts' attention with his ability to influence decisive moments. Noukeu, who played in English football before joining Boulogne, has established himself as an undisputed starter between the posts.
Their joint selection in the team of the week reflects the growing weight of the Indomitable Lions in Ligue 2 this season, with several Cameroonian internationals holding key positions at their respective clubs.
For Nantes, aiming for a quick return to Ligue 1, Younoussa's performance confirms the attacking output expected from his midfielder. Noukeu's consistency between the posts, meanwhile, remains a strong asset for Boulogne in the fight to stay up.
Both players will be expected to deliver again from the next matchday, with the shared goal of confirming this promising start.
