On June 18, 2026, the TRADEX board convened in Yaoundé under the chairmanship of Nathalie Moudik to review the company’s strategic dossiers. The meeting, announced in the local press, comes at a time when the country is seeking to solidify its energy autonomy amid global uncertainties.
The directors expressed unanimous satisfaction with the recent performance of the oil distribution arm of the National Hydrocarbons Company (SNH). They highlighted TRADEX’s ability to maintain steady fuel flows even as international markets experience significant fluctuations.
In an international context marked by supply tensions, TRADEX’s role proves crucial for Cameroon’s energy security. The continuity of deliveries not only stabilises pump prices but also ensures the supply of industrial sectors and transport, pillars of the national economy.
The board presented the main outlines of the company’s development plan, which rests on strengthening storage infrastructure, optimizing the logistics chain, and diversifying supply sources. Under Nathalie Moudik’s leadership, officials reaffirmed their commitment to invest in projects aimed at increasing the resilience of the national network.
For Cameroonians, these commitments translate into greater predictability of energy costs and a reduced risk of shortages. SNH’s renewed confidence in TRADEX’s subsidiary reinforces the perception of a coherent national strategy, where public and private actors work together to secure the energy needs of households and businesses.
Nevertheless, challenges remain numerous. Oil price volatility on global markets, logistical constraints linked to ageing infrastructure, and the need to attract private capital require constant vigilance. The board reminded of the importance of regional cooperation, especially with neighboring countries, to pool storage capacities and facilitate cross‑border exchanges.
Looking ahead, the TRADEX board is optimistic about Cameroon’s ability to cement its energy independence. The announced projects, backed by SNH financing, promise to strengthen the supply chain and ensure a sustainable fuel availability even during periods of global tension.
