Thirteen names appear on the nominee list for Canal 2'Or Act 15's "Best Web Comedienne" category, released by organisers: Kaprice Akamba, Nikita Nike, Laure Moaminga, Frida Choco Bronzé, Rosine Nguemgaing, Amélie Bengomo, Nikaise Ngono, Jordane Ngassa, Caro, Falone Djeudji, Aimée Virgile Makoudoum, Ange Laure Tuenkam and Yvana Leslie.
Born Akamba Ndi Muriel Kaprice on 1 January 1998 in Ngolbang, in the Zoétélé district of southern Cameroon, Kaprice Akamba didn't start out as "Mme Mbarga" — that character is a recent creation. Her career began in 2018 with "Les Tragédies de Kaprice," under the watchful eye of comedian Ezaboto: clips in which she played a young woman in tears, playing on emotion at the border of drama and comedy, earning her the nickname "national crier." For years, alongside filmmaker Bhristian Wouappi — who became "Papa Akamba" in her videos — she turned out portrait after portrait of Cameroonian couple and family life: the cheated-on wife, the overly devoted wife, the row with the mother-in-law over a seat in her husband's car, the schoolgirl caught red-handed by her father. A wave of online criticism over her on-screen crying — "you cry too much," viewers complained — pushed her to reinvent herself: she experimented with a new register, notably alongside comedian Ndolo l'amour, out of which "Mme Mbarga" was born, an expressive grandmother whose tone and period outfits won over internet users in turn. She has since appeared in several Cameroonian productions — Échec et mat (2019), Le Virgile (2022), Le revers de la succession (2023) — and taken part in hit series La Cafétéria de Mama Choco, La Pimentière and Les Killowatts, reuniting with Bhristian Wouappi in 2024. In 2025, she was named "Best Content Creator" at the Cameroon International Film Festival and "Best Comedy Newcomer" at the Best Talent Cameroon awards.
Jordane Ngassa's nomination crowns work built on consistency. On her own channel as much as in her pairings with comedian Moustik le Karismatik — where she most often plays a bar owner, in sketches racking up millions of views — she has spent over a year mining the same seams of social comedy: the anxious co-wife, the toxic ex, polygamy, the overwhelmed housewife. A steady presence on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, alongside appearances in Defo Premier's productions, rounds out a career built first on social media.
The winner's name will be unveiled on 31 October 2026, at the Act 15 ceremony at the Palais des congrès in Yaoundé, which will also mark Canal 2'Or's 20th anniversary.
