Téné Ivan Kevin, known as Tik Dengue, was born on 17 March 1999 in Douala. After earning a science baccalaureate in 2019 at Collège Chevreul, he began making comedy content the following year, 2020, first solo and then in a duo with his cousin, sharing comic clips on WhatsApp and Facebook built around everyday social observation in Cameroon.
His early years combined solo work with collaborations: with Neil Cruz, with Zizou, then with Cabrel Nanjip, another Cameroonian comedian and influencer with whom he went viral. It was alongside Cabrel that Tik Dengue refined the format that made him known beyond Cameroon.
On 15 June 2023, Cabrel Nanjip died in a road accident near Boumnyebel, on National Road 3 between Douala and Yaoundé. He was buried on 20 July in Banganté. Tik Dengue's absence from the funeral of the man local press describes as his mentor drew questions at the time; his mother had to publicly explain the reasons for his absence. Several Cameroonian outlets reported that the weeks following Cabrel Nanjip's death were particularly hard on him.
After that period, Tik Dengue returned with a renewed format called "Téné" — his own first name. The premise: a new comedy clip every evening, generally between 6pm and 8pm, posted on social media. Its best-known spin-off, "Téné le Répétiteur," stages everyday school and family situations in Cameroon. The format has made Tik Dengue one of Cameroon's most-followed creators: his main TikTok account has 3.3 million followers and more than 62 million cumulative likes.
Beyond his daily format, Tik Dengue has also branched into longer work: he holds one of the lead roles in "Ma Pénitence" ("My Penance"), a dramatic short film released on 31 July 2026 on the WOURI TV channel, alongside fellow Cameroonian web figures Bertrand l'Influenceur and Serges Belang — a foray into more serious territory than his usual comedy capsules.
That fame comes with recurring controversy, as is common in Cameroon's closely watched creator scene. Tik Dengue has been engaged for several months in a public dispute with a fellow creator, Zizou Officiel, who has publicly raised issues about aspects of his private life during TikTok livestreams. Tik Dengue, for his part, has rejected the accusations as baseless and called for the conversation to refocus on the work rather than on "kongossa" (gossip). Neither side has, to date, produced verifiable evidence settling the matter.
Two other public disputes have marked his recent activity. On one hand, a tense exchange of posts with cyber-activist N'zui Manto, known for his exposés on Cameroonian affairs — though the identity behind the current account is itself disputed in the local press, with some alleging impersonation. On the other, a relationship turned adversarial with his former manager, Robinson Piffo, the two having publicly traded accusations since their professional split. In both cases, LLV LE MAG is not in a position to verify the substance of what was exchanged, and limits itself to noting that these disputes exist.
While that dispute plays out, Tik Dengue keeps up his daily posting pace, powered by a format that has proven itself since its launch.
