At 18, Tiwa Lys Fraîche is set to discover Spain's top flight. The forward, 2025 Cameroonian Ballon d'Or winner, leaves LEKIE Football (Guinness Super League) to join Liga F, Spain's premier women's football division.
Last season she scored 22 goals, a tally that made her the Cameroonian league's top scorer — and the main driver behind her transfer, confirmed in August 2026.
The move fits a broader trend: European clubs are increasingly looking at African women's football talent. A successful spell in the demanding Liga F could accelerate that trend and inspire other Cameroonian players to try their luck in Europe.
