Vincent Aboubakar has found a new home. Bodrum FK, a Turkish second-division club (1.Lig), announced on August 28, 2026 the signing of the 34-year-old Cameroonian forward on a one-year contract with an additional option.
Born in Garoua in 1992, Aboubakar remains one of the most capped forwards in Indomitable Lions history: 109 caps, 40 goals, and a share of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations top-scorer title with 8 goals.
His European career took him through FC Porto, Beşiktaş in Turkey, then Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, before a brief spell at Neftçi FK in Azerbaijan, which he leaves as a free agent. Bodrum FK marks a return to familiar ground: Aboubakar previously played in the Süper Lig with Beşiktaş.
For Bodrum FK, which is aiming for promotion to the Süper Lig, this signing banks on the experience and goal-scoring instincts of a player used to big occasions, rather than solely on his recent form.
